Robert Rauschenberg - Combines
Robert Milton Ernest Rauschenberg is an American artist. It’s been said that his work helped inspire the Pop Art movement of the 60’s and beyond. He is most famous for his “Combines” of the 1950’s. Combines were where random objects of different shape and size were placed in innovative combinations. Rauschenberg has worked with painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, paper making, and performance. Robert studied Kansas City Art Institute and the Academie Julian in Paris France, before the legendary Black Canyon College in North Carolina. Robert Rauschenberg has had a long career in the arts, and he still continues to work from his home/studio in Captiva, Florida.
